Primrose, shadows and Jennifer.
My front yard. I decided I needed a few shots of Jennifer around the yard before she leaves. The sun was getting low and I loved the shadows.
Jennifer is really excited about the enthusiasm you all are showing for this project!
I spent a large part of my day working on online job apps.... It would be so nice If I could just send the attachment to my resume. I didn't get back to editing the general info about Jennifer's Road Trip.
ETA: RuSu asked if this was the BLING I was going to send Jennifer off with. Yes, this is one of the two. The little butterfly brooch has been in my jewelry box since I was in high school and it seems like a good choice as Jennifer flies away. I am also giving Jennifer a New Mexico Centennial pin to take with her (The state is celebrating it's 100 Birthday this year.) However, the tie-tack type back keeps coming off and it falls off. Before Jennifer and I go out tonight I have to glue the Centennial pin onto Jennifer.
I bought the Centennial pin--it cost $5.95. I searched my jewelry boxes for something I was willing to part with, but has some significance. I do not wear jewelry--no piercings, no necklaces, even while married all I wore was a gold band. I found a lot of things (mostly stuff that my mom gave me that were hers, my grandmother's and an elderly friend who had passed on.) and asked Jennifer what she liked. She wanted this huge abstract pin with sparkly diamonds (well, they weren't diamonds, but I didn't correct Jen.) She liked my vintage Pilots wings and I said no. At that point I took out anything I didn't want to use and let her pick again. She selected the butterfly.
As I was writing this I realized something sweet. I have about 12 or so pins that my dad brought me from his work travels. I hadn't correlated my choice of decorating Jennifer with BLING with my dad giving me souvenir pins he picked up on his travels. An Armadillo tie tack from Texas, a lapel pin from Washington DC, a pin from London, a star of David from Israel.... etc... I value these and wouldn't send them with Jennifer, but I did wonder about the pins he couldn't give me from his travels.... I wondered where they would be from.... the places he went to covertly for the government to set up communication systems.... just in case we needed them....
