C is for Cancer
Meet the new girl in town. Her name is Indigo. Yeah, I know she is PINK, but I named her Indigo anyways. Indigo is one of Jennifer's closest friends and the concept around Ms. Indigo is similar. One of my projects Spring semester is to create a fund raiser and I decided to tie it into the Sisterhood and my personal journey through Breast Cancer. This project will be two sided--yes, I need to raise money both to keep the Sisterhood going and to fill in with my own financial needs when I am unable to work. But I am also asking people to send me BLING! to pin to Indigo. I see the BLING! as tangible hugs, prayers, love, etc from my family, friends and fans. Kind of like we send cards with messages in them to people. Each time I receive BLING!, I will pin it Indigo and take a foto. When my cancer treatment is over and she is filled with BLING! I will create a stop action video.
That is the general idea. I am still in the development stages, but I also need to get this moving now. I would love to hear your ideas and input. I am also looking for people to volunteer their services as I take this project and the entire Sisterhood into a new level.
If you are interested in participating in this project and would like to contribute a piece of BLING! and make a donation, you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am requesting a minimum donation of $10 for each piece of BLING! Thanks.
I created this image using a scanner--still no camera. I made it with this new project in mind, not the alphabet challenge. I love the idea of finding naturally occurring letters in nature or in found objects and shapes. If i was able to participate regularly, I'd try to do it that way--not by finding man-made letters, like this C. I found this C in a Thrift store at Christmas and it was then that I received the inspiration for this project. i think it was meant for this project.
